Deworming Drive held in Multani Mal Modi College Patiala in lieu of National Deworming Campaign

Patiala, 13th August 2025  

The Faculty of Life Sciences, Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala organized a Deworming Drive under the guidelines of National Deworming Campaign. The drive was organized in lieu the instructions of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, with support from the Department of Women and Child Development and Department of Education, Punjab. As part of the initiative, Albendazole tablets were distributed free of cost to all students up to 19 years of age.

Principal, Dr. Neeraj Goyal said that we are delighted to host this Deworming Drive in our college as it helps in prevention of malnutrition, anemia and poor health of the students. The health and well-being of our students are our top priority, and we believe that this initiative will go a long way in promoting their health and academic performance.

Dr. Rajeev Sharma, Dean, Physical Sciences said that the drive is expected to benefit a large number of students, and the college is making all necessary arrangements to ensure its success. “We have made all the necessary arrangements for the Deworming Drive, and we expect a large turnout of students.

Dr. Kuldeep Kumar, Dean, Life Sciences told, “We are committed to providing a healthy and supportive environment to our students, and this Deworming Drive is a step in that direction. We urge all eligible students to participate in the drive and avail the benefits of this health initiative,”

The coordinator of the event Dr. Bhanvi Wadhawan said that the Deworming Drive is a collaborative effort between the college and the health department, and it reflects their commitment to promoting the health and well-being of adolescents. “We are grateful to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Department of Women and Child Development, and Department of Education for their support in organizing this drive.

All the faculty members of Life Sciences Dr. Santosh, Dr. Manish, Dr. Heena, Dr. Akshita, Dr. Maninder, Dr. Teena, Ms. Anita, Ms. Harpreet contributed to make this drive a success. Dr. Sanjay Kumar and Dr. Sanjeev Kumar were also present. ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੇਟ ਦੇ ਕੀੜ੍ਹੇ ਅਤੇ ਮਲ੍ਹੱਪ ਮਾਰਨ ਦੀ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਤਹਿਤ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ, 13 ਅਗਸਤ 2025 ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਦੇ ਜੀਵ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਪੇਟ ਦੇ ਕੀੜ੍ਹੇ ਅਤੇ ਮਲ੍ਹੱਪ ਮਾਰਨ ਦੀ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਦੇ ਨਿਯਮਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਇੱਕ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਹ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਸਿਹਤ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਭਲਾਈ ਮੰਤਰਾਲੇ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮਾਂ ਅਧੀਨ, ਮਹਿਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਲ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨਾਲ ਕਰਵਾਈ ਗਈ। ਇਸ ਦੇ ਤਹਿਤ, 19 ਸਾਲ ਤੱਕ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਐਲਬੈਂਡਾਜੋਲ ਗੋਲੀਆਂ ਮੁਫ਼ਤ ਵੰਡੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ.ਨੀਰਜ ਗੋਇਲ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਾਡੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਚਲਾਈ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਇਹ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੂਪੋਸ਼ਣ, ਖੂਨ ਦੀ ਕਮੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਹਤ ਖਰਾਬ ਹੋਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਸਾਡੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸਿਹਤ ਅਤੇ ਭਲਾਈ ਸਾਡੀ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਤਰਜੀਹ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਮੰਨਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਿਹਤ ਅਤੇ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁਧਾਰ ਲਈ ਬਹੁਤ ਲਾਭਕਾਰੀ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ‘ਤੇ ਭੌਤਿਕ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਡੀਨ ਡਾ. ਰਾਜੀਵ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਲਾਭਕਾਰੀ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਇਸਨੂੰ ਸਫ਼ਲ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋੜੀਂਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਅਸੀਂ ਪੇਟ ਦੇ ਕੀੜ੍ਹੇ ਤੇ ਮਲ੍ਹੱਪ ਮਾਰਨ ਦੀ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਲਈ ਸਾਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧ ਕਰ ਲਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਹਾਜ਼ਰੀ ਦੀ ਉਮੀਦ ਹੈ।” ਜੀਵ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਡੀਨ ਡਾ. ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਅਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਹਤਮੰਦ ਅਤੇ ਸਹਾਇਕ ਵਾਤਾਵਰਣ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਵਚਨਬੱਧ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਉਸੇ ਦਿਸ਼ਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਕਦਮ ਹੈ। ਅਸੀਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਪੀਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਇਸ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਗ ਲੈਣ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਲਾਭ ਲੈਣ।” ਇਸ ਸਮਾਰੋਹ ਦੀ ਕੋਆਰਡੀਨੇਟਰ ਡਾ. ਭਾਨਵੀ ਵਧਾਵਨ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਕਾਲਜ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਹਤ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਸਾਂਝੇ ਯਤਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਤੀਜਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਕਿ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਿਹਤ ਅਤੇ ਭਲਾਈ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਚਨਬੱਧਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਸਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਅਸੀਂ ਸਿਹਤ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਭਲਾਈ ਮੰਤਰਾਲੇ, ਮਹਿਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਲ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਲਈ ਧੰਨਵਾਦੀ ਹਾਂ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਨੂੰ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਦਿੱਤਾ।” ਇਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਜੀਵ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਤੋਂ ਡਾ. ਸ਼ੰਤੋਸ਼, ਡਾ.ਮਨੀਸ਼, ਡਾ. ਹਿਨਾ, ਡਾ.ਅਕਸ਼ਿਤਾ, ਡਾ.ਮਨਿੰਦਰ,ਡਾ.ਟੀਨਾ, ਮਿਸ. ਅਨੀਤਾ, ਮਿਸ. ਹਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਸਫ਼ਲ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਡਾ. ਸੰਜੇ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਡਾ. ਸੰਜੀਵ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਵੀ ਹਾਜ਼ਿਰ ਸਨ। List of participants
